AIKEN - The USC Aiken women's tennis team served Lander its first defeat of the season Sunday afternoon, 7-2, in a Peach Belt Conference match at the USCA Tennis Courts. The Lady Pacers won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles.

USCA improves to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 3-1, 2-1.

In singles, No. 1 Kristin Hunter (USCA) def. Fernanda Oliveira, 6-1, 6-0; No. 2 Mathilde Grenet (USCA) def. Vuokko Vahatalo, 6-4, 6-3; No. 3 Anni Pajunen (LU) def. Stephanie Humphrey, 6-1, 6-4; No. 4 Marianne Blattes (USCA) def. Caitlin Fell, 6-2, 6-0; No. 5 Brittany Telford (USCA) def. Melanese Newbold, 6-4, 6-0; and No. 6 Maria Soledad Angel (USCA) def. Ana Luiza Zaia, 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles, Hunter/Telford (USCA) def. Pajunen/Oliveira, 8-4; No. 2 Grenet/Angel (USCA) def. Zaia/Emmanouil, 8-2; and No. 3 Vahatalo/Fell (LU) def. Blattes/Humphrey.
