MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Lander women's soccer team saw its season come to an end Tuesday night when the Lady Bearcats lost to Georgia College & State University, 2-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Peach Belt Conference tournament.
GCSU improves to 13-1-4 and advances to Friday semifinal round at Blanchard Woods Park in Augusta, Ga. Lander slips to 7-9-1.
Kara Teresi scored the game-winner for GCSU when she netted the ball on an unassisted goal at 6:59. The Bobcats' Megan McAlpin made it 2-0 at 76:07 on a double assist from Daria Owen and Jeni Day.
GCSU outshot Lander, 19-7, and led in corner kicks, 11-0.
Lander goalkeeper Katherine Baltz was credited with four saves, while GCSU's Mary Plunkett had two.
