GREENWOOD - Three Lander volleyball players posted double-doubles Friday night to lead the Bearcats to a 25-23, 25-10, 25-21 Peach Belt Conference victory over Francis Marion in Horne Arena.
With the win, Lander improves to 19-9 overall and 5-2 in the PBC, while FMU drops to 19-7, 5-3. FMU defeated Lander earlier in the season, 3-0.
Kerri Sorensen had a game-high 13 kills and 11 digs, while Magi Nottingham added 11 kills and 12 digs, and Candace LaRocca 41 assists and 10 digs. Marina Camps contributed 20 digs and two service aces for the Bearcats.
Francis Marion was led by Jessica Lombard (nine kills), Kelsie Deaton (10 digs), Ashlyn Underhill (nine kills) Jenna Kaiser (24 assists), and Jess O'Leary (10 digs).
Lander posted a .289 hitting averaged compared to FMU's .116.
Lander will host UNC Pembroke at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1 in a Peach Belt Conference game.
