GREENWOOD - Kerri Sorensen, Magi Nottingham and Candace LaRocca each posted double-doubles Tuesday night to rally the Lander volleyball team to a 3-2 come-from-behind Peach Belt Conference victory against USC Aiken in Horne Arena. Trailing by two games, the Bearcats came back for a 22-25, 25-27, 25-16, 25-13, 15-10 victory.
Lander improves to 18-9 overall and 4-2 in the PBC, while USC Aiken drops to 15-10, 3-3.
Sorensen led the way with 13 kills and 17 digs, while Nottingham added 12 kills and 21 digs and LaRocca 49 assists, 16 digs and four service aces. Mallory Wasik recorded 12 kills, while Marina Camps had 23 digs and Kendall Eayrs nine kills. Nottingham, Kay Stewart and Ashley Ferry each had two service aces.
The Pacers Stefanie Durham and Megan Disney had double-doubles to pace USCA. Durham had 12 kills, 24 digs and two service aces, and Disney contributed 12 kills and 11 digs. Lauren Cedeno and Whtiney Tabbert each had 20 assists, while Danielle Spice had 34 digs.
Lander will host Francis Marion at 7 p.m., Friday, in a PBC game.
