AIKEN----Chris Commons and Jeremy Fears combined for 49 points Wednedsay night to lead the No. 5-ranked USC Aiken men's basketball team to a 78-63 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander at the Convocation Center.
USCA improves to 14-2 overall and 8-1 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 6-9, 3-5.
Commons scored a game-high 26 points, while Fears netted 23. Kingsley Oguchi had a team-high eight rebounds for the Pacers.
Curtis Milner led the Bearcats with 11 points, three rebounds and two blocked shots, while Zach Evans scored nine points and Houston Wright, Brenton Harris and Darius Johnson eight each. Harris led Lander in rebounds with six, while Travis Allison had a team-high four assists.
The Bearcats connected on 18-of-49 field goals for 36.7 percent, including 5-of-23 three-point attempts for 21.7 percent. Lander made 22-of-27 free throws for 81.5 percent.
USCA, which led 43-25 at halftime, made 25-of-51 floor shots for 49 percent, including 6-of-18 three pointers for 33.3 percent. The Pacersw wre 22-of-25 from the free throw line for 88 percent.
