AUGUSTA, Ga.----The No. 18-ranked Augusta State men's basketball team placed five players in double figures Wednesday night as the Jaguars defeated Lander 88-76 in a Peach Belt Conference game at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta State improves to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 5-7, 2-3.
Tyrekus Bowman led Augusta State with 28 points, while Garret Siler scord 17, Ben Madgen and Daniel Dixon 14 each, and Demetrius Howard 12. Siler also had 11 rebounds for the Jags.
Zach Evans scored a game-high 29 points for Lander, while Houston Wright netted 17 and Ford "Scooter" Lawrence had 10.
Augusta State, which led 41-40 at halftime, made 32-of-61 field goals for 52.5 percent, 11-of-25 three pointers for 44 percent and 13-of-16 free throws for 81.3 percent. The Jaguars outrebounded Lander, 36-26.
Lander made 25-of-54 floor shots for 46.3 percent, 15-of-26 three pointers for 57.7 percent and 11-of-14 free throws for 78.6 percent.
