MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.----Tiara Good scored a career-high 37 points to lead four Lander players in double figures Saturday night as the Lander women's basketball team remained unbeaten in the Peach Belt Conference with a 107-97 victory over Georgia College & State University in the Centennial Center.
The Lady Bearcats improve to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the PBC, while GCSU drops to 7-4, 2-2.
Good, last year's PBC Player of the Year, connected on 13-of-26 field goals, including 9-of-17 three-point shots, to go along with 2-of-2 free throws, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal. LaShonda Chiles added 27 points on 7-of-18 field goals and 12-of-12 free throws, seven assists and two steals. Shannon McKever had 14 points and nine rebounds and TaSheba Butler scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with three steals.
GCSU was led by Dominique Muffin's game-high 41 points. Muffin connected on 15-of-22 field goals, including 8-of-12 three pointers and 3-of-5 foul shots. Elicia Lynch and Emily Bixler added 12 points each, while Ashley Williams netted 10. Williams led the Lady Bobcats in rebounds with 12.
Lander which led 46-40 at halftime, made 38-of-81 field goals for 46.9 percent, 11-of-31 three pointers for 35.5 percent and 20-of-30 free throws for 66.7 percent.
GCSU made 36-of-82 field goals for 43.9 percent, 10-of-24 three pointers for 41.7 percent and 15-of-22 foul shots for 68.2 percent.
Lander outrebounded the Lady Bobcats, 52-48.
