Georgia College men’s basketball upends Bearcats, 71-57

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.----The Georgia College & State University men's basketball team placed five players in double figures Saturday night to lead the Bobcats to a 71-57 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander in the Centennial Center.

GCSU improves to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 5-6, 2-2.

Shaun Keaton led GCSU with 16 points, while Aaron Clark had 14, Graham Martin 13, Reece Wiedman 11 and Ken Kemp 10. Kemp led the Bobcats with 11 rebounds, while Clark grabbed nine.

Zach Evans scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Bearcats. Scottie Smith and Houston Wright netted nine points each, while Smith had a team-high six rebounds.

GCSU, which led 27-25 at halftime, made 25-of-52 field goals for 48.1 percent, including 7-of-17 three pointers (41.2 percent). The Bobcats were 14-of-20 from the free throw line for 70 percent.

Lander made 21-of-63 field goals for 33.3 percent, 8-of-30 three pointers for 26.7 percent and 7-of-16 free throws for 43.8 percent.

Lander outrebounded GCSU, 41-39.
