DAHLONEGA, Ga.----The Lander softball team dropped to 11-39 on the season Saturday when the Bearcats lost two games on the second day of the X-Trem Classic hosted by North Georgia College & University. (Game 1 Box | Game 2 Box)

In the first game, North Georgia defeated Lander, 16-1. The Bearcats fell to Southern Indiana, 16-1, in the final game of the classic.

In the late game against Lander, the Saints scored early and often with five runs in the first inning and scoring at least a run in every inning to run away with a 16-6 victory. Krista Bess led the way for the Saints with three hits and four runs batted in while Jessica Skeels also plated four runs and added two hits.

For Lander, Kyndall Freer went 2-for-3 with one double, while Brittany Wallace went 3-for-4, Corrie Bessinger 2-for-3 and Ashlea Burdette 2-for-4.

Whitney Propes (4-4) picked up the win in a complete game effort. Wallace got the loss as she went four innings and allowed 11 hits and 11 earned runs.

Southern Indiana 16, Lander University 1
Southern Indiana ran away from the very beginning, scoring 13 runs before the Bearcats ever came to the plate.

In the first inning, the Eagles saw 85 pitches, sent 18 batters to the plate and tallied nine walks and only five hits to put a 13 spot on the board. Ally McKinley led the way for the Screaming Eagles with a hit and three runs batted in. Tara McConnell also drove in three runs.

Kristin Eickholt picked up the win for Southern Indiana, while Austin Murray got in the loss in only 2/3 of an inning.
