GREENWOOD---The Lander women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches, but could only manage two singles matches as it lost to North Greenville University, 5-4, Friday afternoon in a non-conference match at the Joe Cabri Courts.

Lander is 0-2 on the season.

In singles, Teresita Mariani (NG) def. Fernanda Oliveira, 6-2, 6-1; No. 2 Vuokko Vahatalo (LU) def. Cherie Curtis, 6-0, 6-2; No. 3 Anni Pajunen (LU) def. Rebecca Cooper, 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 Courney Lynne (NG) def. Ana Luiza Zaia, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3; No. 5 Keisha Kohns (NG) def. Kristinanne Emmanouil, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4; and No. 6 Caitlyn Witted (NG) def. Nicholi Marsh, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

In doubles, No. 1 Pajunen/Vahatalo (LU) def. Mariani/Curtis, 8-6; No. 2 Cooper/Lynne (NG) def. Zaia/Marsh, 8-4; and No. 3 Oliveira/Emmanouil (LU) def. Witted/Kohns, 8-4.
