Good scores career-high 36 in win over Lenoir-Rhyne

MORROW, Ga.----Tiara Good scored a career-high 36 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Saturday afternon to lead the Lander women's basketball team to a 92-85 non-conference victory over Lenoir-Rhyne in the Holiday Bank Classic at Clayton State University.

Lander improves to 7-4 overall, while Lenoir-Rhyne drops to 7-3.

Good, whose previous best was 32 points, connected on 10-of-19 field goals, including 6-of-9 three pointers, and made 10-of-12 free throws. She also had six steals and two assists. LaShonda Chiles chipped in 18 points and four rebounds, Stephanie Ponds had 14 points and TaSheba Butler had 12 points and seven rebounds. The Lander school record for points in a game is 41, set by Lorain Truesdale against Georgia College during the 1992-93 season.

LaCourtney Rann led Lenoir-Rhyne with 26 points, while Amber Holt added 13 and Jacquelyn Kremer 12. Jami Safrit grabbed a team-high seven rebounds,w hile Kremer had six.

Lander, which led 41-36 at halftime, connected on 31-of-64 shots from the field for 48.4 percent, including 8-of-19 three pointers for 42.1 percent. The Lady Bearcats were 22-of-25 from the foul line for 88 percent.

Lenoir-Rhyne shot 35-of-74 from the field for 47.3 percent, but only made 6-of-20 three-point attempts. The Lady Bears were 9-of-14 from the free throw line for 64.3 percent.

Lander outrebounded LRC, 40-38.
