PEMBROKE, N.C.----Jarred Jackson and Michael Griffin scored 16 points each Wednesday night to lead the Lander men's basketball team to a 56-39 Peach Belt Conference victory against UNC Pembroke in the English E. Jones Center.
Lander improves to 9-6 overall and 4-1 in the PBC, while UNCP slips to 4-13, 3-3.
Griffin was 4-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-6 the the three-point line, while Jackson was 5-of-17 from the floor. Emanuel Hodrea led the Bearcats with a season-high 16 rebounds.
Jonathan Hart led UNCP with 12 points and five rebounds.
Lander, which led 19-17 at halftime, made 18-of-46 from the field for 39.1 percent, 8-of-28 from the three-point line for 28.6 percent and 12-of-19 from the free throw line for 63.2 percent.
The Braves were 15-of-44 from the floor (34.1 percent), 4-of-15 from the three-point line (26.7 percent) and 5-of-8 from the free throw line (62.5 percent).
