GREENWOOD----Kerri Sorensen had 10 kills and 14 digs and Jennifer (JJ) Edwards totaled 27 assists and 11 digs Monday night to lead the Lander volleyball team to a 3-0 non-conference victory over North Greenville University in Horne Arena. Game scores were 30-9, 30-14, 30-13.

Lander improves to 9-1 overall, while North Greenville opens the season at 0-1. Lander's nine victories is only one shy of its total number of victories in 2005.

Melissa Trippany added 20 digs and seven service aces for the Bearcats, while Carly Plecha added 10 digs and Andrea Griffin two solo blocks. Lander had a .309 hitting average.

North Greenville's Pat Calwile led the Crusaders with five kills, eight assists and 10 digs. Amanda Bouchillon chipped in 10 digs, while Maegwen Salley and Devan Davidson had four kills each.
