GREENWOOD----The No. 11-ranked Lander men's tennis team won its fourth straight match Friday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated No. 21 Georgia College & State University, 9-0, in a Peach Belt Conference contest.

Lander, which has nine shut outs this season, improves to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the PBC. GC&SU drops to 10-6, 2-5.

In singles, No. 1 Stefan Tewes (L) def. Brandon Lee, 6-1, 6-2; No. 2 Nicolas Legros (L) def. Rodrigo Yamauti, 6-4, 6-3; No. 3 Joakim Karlsson (L) def. Marcelo Ferreira, 6-2, 6-0; No. 4 Henrik Erlandsson (L) def. Mariano Cebrian, 5-7, 6-1, 10-7; No. 5 Andre Ivarsson (L) def. Melvin Smith, 6-1, 6-0; and No. 6 Nicholas Tzekos (L) def. Renato Oliveira, 5-7, 6-2, 10-5.

In doubles, No. 1 Ivarsson/Karlsson (L) def. Yamauti/Ferreira, 8-3; No. 2 Tewes/T.C. Valle (L) def. Lee/Oliveira, 8-6; and No. 3 Legros/Boris Simic (L) def. Cebrian/Smith, 9-8.
