AIKEN, S.C.----The No. 20-ranked Lander men's soccer team suffered its biggest loss of the season Wednesday night when the Bearcats lost to USC Aiken, 2-1, in a Peach Belt Conference match. The loss snaps a 15-game winning streak against the Pacers. The Lady Pacers downed Lander, 2-0.
USCA improves to 7-4-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 9-2, 2-2.
Lander took an early 1-0 lead when Nick Cooke scored off a Jamie Ramm assist just six minutes into the game.
USCA tied the game at 1-1 in the 28th minute on an assist from Rebuen Ojeyinka.
Wacey Benjamin scored the game-winner in the 69th minute.
Lander goalkeeper Garrett Daum registered two saves, while the Pacers had five.
Lander outshot USCA, 16-8.
Lander will host Georgia Southwestern at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in a PBC contest.
