GREENWOOD----Columbus State University's Sarah Hawkins scored a hat trick Wednesday afternoon to help the CSU women's soccer team defeat Lander 5-0 and remain undefeated in the Peach Belt Conference.
Columbus improves to 16-2 overall and 9-0 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 3-12, 0-8.
Hawkins gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead at 14:35 on an unassisted goal. The Cougars extended the lead to 2-0 when Megan Honig headed the ball in off Kassy Boivin's direct kick at 22:20.
Hawkins scored her second goal at 29:32, then added her final goal at 51:16 on an assist from Rachel Walthall. Brook Snyder headed in Columbus' final goal at 88:14 on a corner kick from Krystin Mills.
Columbus State outshot Lander, 21-0. Lander goalkeeper Rachael Hine had 11 saves.
