GREENWOOD----Limestone College's Ashley Vaughan scored off a pass from Rachel Moore with 31 seconds remaining in the first half Saturday to lead the Limestone College women's soccer team to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Lander University.

Limestone improves to 2-0 overall, while Lander drops to 1-2.

Lander outshot Limestone, 11-7, and led in corner kicks, 9-4.

Limestone goalkeeper Liz Eichhorn had six saves, while Lander Rachael Hine had two.

The Bearcats controlled the ball most of the second half, but couldn't find the net despite scoring opportunities by Noel Livernois and Jannica Finnberg which hit the cross bar.

Lander will next travel to Wingate for a 2 p.m. non-conference contest on Saturday, Sept. 10.
