GREENWOOD, S.C.----Lees-McRae's Ian Dargavel scored off an assist from Kyle McGimsey 1:29 into overtime Wednesday afternoon to lead the Bobcats to a 2-1 upset over No. 21 Lander in non-conference men's soccer action.
Lees-McRae improves to 5-3 overall, while the Bearcats drop to 6-2-1.
Lees-McRae scored the first goal of the game when Bradley Rose tapped the ball from in front of the goal on an assist from Rocky Bravo with 23:10 remaining in the first half.
In the first half, Lees-McRae outshot Lander, 5-4, but the Bearcats led in corner kicks, 9-0.
Lander scored early in the second half to tie the game 1-1 when Tyler Davis netted an assist from Carlos Lozano in the 48th minute.
The Bearcats outshot Lees-McRae, 13-11, and led in corner kicks, 11-2.
Lees-McRae goalkeeper Dylan Lawrence recorded seven saves, while Lander's Ryan Peck had six.
