GREENWOOD----Rachelle Milbank posted a triple-double and Rebeka Miesborrella added a double-double Saturday afternoon to lead the UNC Pembroke volleyball team to a 3-2 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander at Horne Arena. Game scores were: 15-30, 31-29, 26-30, 30-25, 15-13.
UNCP improves to 10-18 overall and 3-8 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 7-21, 0-11.
Kerri Sorensen (22 kills, 17 digs) and Sara Senn (20 kills, 29 digs, 4 service aces) both had double-doubles for Lander. Andrea Griffin added 19 kills and nine digs while Christy Plecha had 10 kills. Claire Damon led the Bearcats in assists with 68 and also had 14 digs. Tracy Jacobs and Melissa Trippany had 29 and 23 digs respectively.
UNCP's Milbank led the Lady Braves with 13 kills, 10 digs, 19 assists and three service aces, while Niesborrella had 12 kills and 19 digs. Other key contributors for the Lady Braves were Alicia Hill (6 kills, 22 digs, 2 service aces), Lexie Wood (22 assists) and Alex Cogdill (21 digs).
