GREENWOOD----Freshman Stacey Copeland scored one goal and added two assists Wednesday afternoon to lead the Lander women's soccer team to a 3-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over USC Aiken.
Lander improves to 6-7-3 overall and 3-1-3 in the PBC while USC Aiken drops to 3-13-0, 0-7-0. The victory is Lander's first after three consecutive ties.
After a scoreless first half, Noel Livernois gave Lander a 1-0 lead with 36:38 left in the game. Livernois headed the ball into the right side of the goal off a Copeland corner kick.
The Bearcats extended the lead to 2-0 when Nicole Bulinsky scored off another assist from Copeland with 28:24 left.
Copeland then added a goal of her own with 12:05 left off a Jannica Finnberg corner kick.
Lander goalkeeper Rachael Hine had recorded three saves, while USCA's Jacquelynn Hart had four.
Lander outshot the Lady Pacers, 12-4.
