PEMBROKE, N.C.---- Sophomore Moses Dimmock scored what proved to be the game-winner late in the first half to give UNC Pembroke a 2-1 win over Lander in Peach Belt Conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the Belk Athletic Complex. With the win, the Braves move to 10-3-3 on the year and 1-1-2 in Peach Belt play, while Lander falls to 8-3-3 and 2-1-2 in conference action.
Sophomore Tuncay Dilek gave UNCP an early 1-0 lead on a pass from Cooper in the 17th minute. Dimmock then netted a ball with only 2:15 left in the first half for a 2-0 Braves' advantage.
Lander's Luke Ibbetson cut the lead in half, 2-1, with a goal at 69:50, but UNCP's defense took over and shut the door on the Bearcats' rally.
