Meranda Maestas

Meranda comes to Lander after spending the past nine years as the head coach of the Madison High School volleyball program, where she led the Bobcats to the 5A State Championship in 2018 and 2022. During her tenure at MHS, she racked up four district titles, eight state tournament appearances, and seven State Final Four appearances. She has been named the Idaho High School Activities Association 5A Coach of the Year in both 2022 and 2018. She has earned All-Conference Coach-of-the-Year honors three different times, the All-Area Coach of the Year two different times, and was recently named the Idaho Standard Journals State Coach of the Year (for all sports.) 
 
Meranda has nine years of experience as a high school head coach, two years as an assistant varsity coach, two years as a freshman coach, and 15 years of club coaching experience. She has served as a board member for the Eastern Idaho Volleyball Association and a Female Representative for the IHSAA District 6 Board of Controls. Meranda also served as the Madison Volleyball Association Club Director, which included 10-15 teams each year which ranged from the largest to second largest club program in eastern Idaho. 
 
Meranda has taught elementary school for the past ten years and will be attending Lander to work on her master’s degree in education and learning, focusing on diverse learning.
