Mike Smith joined Lander's coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in 2020.

Prior to arriving in Greenwood, Smith worked at Zachary High School and served as the assistant coach and pitching coach for the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.). 

Smith lives on Lake Greenwood with his wife, Stephanie. They have three children Brandon, Sydney, and Blaine. Sydney pitched collegiately at LSU and Minnesota.
