Glen Crawford enters his seventh season as head coach of the Lander softball program. Crawford became the Bearcats' sixth head softball coach when he was hired in June 2015.
Crawford owns a 134-120-1 overall record at Lander.
Lander went 18-5-1 during the shortened 2020 campaign. The Bearcats ranked sixth in the nation in batting average, 11th in hits, and 15th in stolen bases.
In 2018, Crawford led the Bearcats to a 32-18 record, the most wins for Lander since 2005 and the highest winning percentage in a single season for the program since 1999. Lander advanced to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals, winning its first postseason game in eight years. Casey Wooten set the program's single-season and career steals record, while McKenzi Ferguson became the school's first three-time PBC Pitcher of the Week. Lander also put two players on the all-conference team.
During his first season, the Bearcats posted a 26-21 overall record and a 12-12 mark in Peach Belt Conference play. Lander finished with a winning record for the first time since 2003 and advanced to the PBC Tournament for the first time since 2010. Crawfords' team also set the school record for conference wins in a single season. Two Bearcats earned all-conference honors for the first time since 2012 and Emily Marousek became the first Bearcat to be named Peach Belt Player of the Week in 14 seasons.
Crawford, who earned his bachelor's degree at Union (Ky.) College, previously coached at Reinhardt (Ga.) University for eight years, led the Eagles to five NAIA national tournament appearances.
Crawford is a three-time Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Coach of the Year and led his team to six straight AAC championships. He posted a 296-117 overall record for a .717 winning percentage. His 2014 team won an astounding 46 games.
Crawford and his wife Julie have two daughters, Haylie and Riley.
