CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Sarah Reed debuted with the Lander women's golf team in remarkable fashion by taking home Individual Medalist honors at this year's The City With Spirit Fall Classic hosted by Lee University at Cleveland Country Club. As a group, the Bearcats finished in a tie for fourth with the host Flames.
Reed, a senior transfer from West Texas A&M, shot 73/70/70 across the tournament to finish three-under and three shots clear of second place. Reed was at or near the top of all statistical categories, including first in par-5 scoring, third in both par-4 and par-3 scoring, and second in birdies with 10.
Lincoln Memorial won the tournament at +11 ahead of North Georgia (+28). Columbus State was +38, two shots ahead of Lander and Lee. There were 16 teams and a field of 89 players.
Josefine Winkle was 15th overall after rounds of 76/71/77. Winkle's 39 pars were the second most in the tournament and she had the fifth lowest score in the second round.
Emma Kallkvist was T38th in her first outing at Lander after joining the Bearcats from Coker. She scored 75/76/82.
Lara Stifter (+20) and
Isabel Ewers (+22) were the other Bearcats in the starting lineup.
Rachel Bowen and
Katy Lansley competed as individuals, finishing +21 and +22, respectively.
LU hosts the 2026 Savannah Lakes Women's Invitational next week at Monticello Golf Club in McCormick on Sept. 21-22.
