LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Lander volleyball team was recognized for its success in the classroom, earning the 2025-26 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced this week.

The Bearcats posted a 3.6975 cumulative team grade-point average during the 2025-26 academic year to earn the national recognition. The award marks the fourth AVCA Team Academic Award in program history and the second consecutive season Lander has received the honor after also earning the distinction in 2024-25.

The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes collegiate and high school volleyball programs that maintain a year-long team GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale).

The Bearcats continue to excel both on the court and in the classroom, adding another academic achievement to the program's growing list of accomplishments.
