AUGUSTA, Ga. – Greyson Pritzl of the Lander men's basketball team picked up his first career Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week award, the conference office announced this afternoon.
Pritzl, a junior from West Allis, Wisconsin, and in his second year with the Bearcats, has been on fire of late: he has averaged 21.5 points per game over his last four games, including 25 or more in two of those contests.
Last week, he scored 25 in the Cats' 93-81 road win at Georgia College. Pritzl made 6 of 10 shots in that game, with a 5 for 8 showing from 3-point range. Pritzl also made eight free throws while tacking on a pair of rebounds, assists and steals.
In LU's 68-60 home win on Friday night over Columbus State, he put together an 18-point night on 7-of-12 shooting. He hit two more 3s and pulled down a team-best seven boards against the Cougars.
Pritzl has made the second-most 3-pointers in the conference (48) and his 40% mark from long-range is also second-best in the PBC.
The conference-leading Bearcats will look to extend their five-game winning streak on Wednesday night at Clayton State at 7:30. The Blue and Gold topped the Lakers 89-73 in
Finis Horne Arena on Dec. 10.
