CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Lander women's golf team finished in third place to kick-off the 2025-26 campaign in the NCAA DII South Regional Preview at Cleveland Country Club.
The Bearcats (+37) were nine shots back of Lynn in second, and Wingate won at +13. Host Lee finished two strokes behind Lander and a stroke ahead of Anderson in fifth. There were 16 teams in all.
After a top-five showing at last year's NCAA DII Championships,
Kajsa Lindqvist found herself in familiar territory as she tied for fifth-place this week. She shot 16 spots up the leaderboard today with an even-par 72 in the final round while finishing at five-over.
Sakurako Tanaka was three shots behind Lindqvist in a tie for 13th. Tanaka had scores of 74-74-76 over three rounds.
Isabel Ewers (+12) closed with a 77 today following a second-round 73 and opening-round 78. She finished T28.
Making her Bearcat debut,
Lara Stifter was +14 with scores of 75-72-83. Stifter was inside the top-three in par-3 scoring throughout the tournament.
Freshman
Felicitas Kampshoff was +23 in her first collegiate tournament.
Rachel Bowen (Ind.), also playing in her first collegiate tournament, was +27, followed by
Emilyn Davis (Ind.)
Lander will host the Savannah Lakes Women's Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday next week (Sept. 22 and 23) at Monticello Golf Club.
