CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – With 36 holes in the books at the season-opening NCAA DII South Regional Preview, the Lander women's golf team is in sole possession of third place at +19.
The tournament, which is being contested at Cleveland Country Club, is co-led by Lynn and Wingate at +11 following two rounds.
Newcomer
Lara Stifter is pacing the Bearcats at +3, four shots back of the leader. Stifter (T11) improved from an opening-round 75 to an even-par 72 to close the day.
Sakurako Tanaka is one shot back of Stifter at +4 in a 19th-place tie. Tanaka carded a pair of 74s on Monday.
Third on the board for Lander and tied for 21st is
Kajsa Lindqvist (+5). Lindqvist went 75-74 in her two rounds.
Isabel Ewers is the fourth Bearcat scorer at +7. She had a five-shot improvement from Round 1 to Round 2 (78-73) and will look to build on that momentum tomorrow.
Making her collegiate debut, freshman
Felicitas Kampshoff (+14) steadied with a 75 in the second round.
Individuals
Rachel Bowen and
Emilyn Davis are +18 and +19, respectively.
Golfers will tee-off for the final round at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
