Lander Athletes Excel in Classroom in 2024-25 Academic year

GREENWOOD – Lander University student-athletes posted a 3.30 GPA for the Spring 2025 semester and a 3.31 GPA for the 2024–25 academic year, marking the fourth consecutive semester the athletic department has recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher.

A total of 25 of Lander's 27 athletic programs recorded a GPA of 3.00 or higher during the spring semester, while 26 teams achieved a GPA above 3.00 for the full academic year.

The women's tennis team led all programs with a department-best 3.85 GPA for the spring and 3.86 for the year.

"I am incredibly proud of our student-athletes for all the hard work they put in during this athletic year," said Lander Athletic Director Brian Reese. "To put up a 3.30 GPA in four straight semesters in a department our size is a testament to how committed our student-athletes are in the classroom. It is also a testament to the coaches who set high academic standards and a support staff that takes pride in how our student-athletes represent the Bearcat Brand."
