GREENWOOD – Lander student-athletes once again excelled in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year as the department posted a cumulative 3.37 GPA, an increase from last year's 3.35 mark.
For the first time, all 27 sports under the Lander Athletics banner recorded a full-term GPA above 3.0.
Lander's NCAA programs combined for a 3.40 GPA, while the department's club sports teams posted a 3.24 GPA.
Women's tennis led all programs with a 3.81 team GPA, followed by men's tennis at 3.79 and women's golf at 3.75.
Of Lander's 725 student-athletes, 564 earned a GPA above 3.0, accounting for 78 percent of the department. Additionally, 94 student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA during the academic year.
"I could not be more proud of our student-athletes for this accomplishment," Director of Athletics
Brian Reese said. "For all 27 of our teams to have a GPA above a 3.0 for this year shows how much our student-athletes put into their work in the classroom. The support they get from their coaches as well as our academic support staff, Dawn Turner and
Jamie Wilson, allows them to thrive both on and off the field."
