MARTINEZ, Ga. - After picking up two wins last week on the mound, Jake Larson (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) was named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league this afternoon. This is the first weekly award for the Lander Baseball team this season.

Larson earns his first career PBC Pitcher of the Week honor after a dominating week that saw him go 2-0 allowing zero earned runs across 11.2 IP. The sophomore opened his week with a 7.2 IP performance against Belmont Abbey that saw him carry a no-hitter into the seventh inning, while striking out six to help Lander take down the Crusaders at Dolny Stadium for the first time since 2014.

The Ponte Vedra, Fla. native then came in in relief in the third game of the series against Chowan with the Bearcats trailing 4-2 and threw four perfect innings of work, striking out three, and keeping the Hawks off the scoreboard to allow Lander to mount a comeback with three runs in the eighth inning to earn the series sweep of Chowan.
