Pritzl, Leonard Jr. and Daniels guide Bearcats to 93-77 neutral-site win over Chowan

FLORENCE, S.C. – Greyson Pritzl scored 24 points, Terry Leonard Jr. poured in 22 and Jacob Daniels had a 14-point, 13-assist double-double to lead Lander to a dominant 93-77 neutral-site win over Chowan on Friday evening.

The game, which was played inside Smith University Center on the campus of Francis Marion, was the first of two for the Bearcats this weekend as part of FMU's Thanksgiving Classic – Lander plays the host Patriots tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Pritzl shot 9 of 13 from the floor and 6 of 10 from 3-point range while adding seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Leonard was 7 of 9 from the field and sank all four of his 3-pointers and free throws and also pulled down five rebounds.

Dylan Canoville joined Pritzl, Leonard and Daniels in double figures with 14 points of his own to go along with five boards.

Lander (4-1) collectively shot the lights out, making 33 of 55 shot attempts (60%) in addition to drilling 15 of 27 from downtown (55.6%).

Though the game was tight early, it didn't stay that way for long as Lander used a 10-2 run to grab a 22-11 lead midway through the first half.

The Blue and Gold then scored 15 of the game's next 17 points to make it 37-13 with six minutes left before halftime. Antewan Webber Jr. hit two 3s during the stretch, and Daniels added another to put the Hawks (3-3) on their heels.

Pritzl scored nine of the Bearcats' last 11 points to close out the first half with a 48-28 advantage.

Pritzl's trey out of the under-16:00 media timeout grew the margin to a game-high 23 points, 59-36, with 15:49 to play. Navaughn Maise made it 66-48 halfway through the closing half with a pair of makes at the free-throw line.

The closest Chowan got from there was within 81-70 with 3:45 left.

Lander's 26 assists set a new season-high that eclipsed the 23 they had last time out versus Erskine.
