GREENWOOD – Three members of the Lander Men's Soccer team have been named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Southeast Region Team this evening:
Christian Hatley (First Team),
Callum Stokes (First Team) and
Charlie Bell (Second Team).
Hatley adds to his accolades from earlier this month when he was named the Peach Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year while making the First Team All-PBC.
The senior put together a complete season this year, leading the PBC in points (27) and assists (13). Hatley is tied for the second-most assists in NCAA Division II and tied for the third-most goals in the conference with seven. He is also tied for ninth in Division II with those 27 points.
Hatley had a pair of multi-goal games this season (Sept. 17 vs. North Georgia and Sept. 20 vs. Middle Georgia) and tallied five assists in one game (Oct. 4 vs. Georgia Southwestern).
Stokes, a sophomore, was also a First Team All-PBC member this season and swept the D2CIDA National Player of the Week and PBC Offensive Player of the Week awards on Nov. 3.
He had a hat-trick versus then-No. 19 North Georgia on Oct. 29 and totaled seven goals and one assist this year. The Reading, England, native also scored a goal in the PBC quarterfinals against Middle Georgia on Nov. 8.
Another Bearcat senior, Bell adds this nod to his First Team All-PBC recognition earlier this month, as well as the conference's Elite 18 Academic Award.
Bell played in every game this season and had an assist on the goal versus Lee in a 1-0 win on Oct. 11 – one of five Lander shutouts that Bell helped anchor defensively.
