Lander draws 1-1 at USCA

AIKEN, S.C. – On the road for a midweek Peach Belt match versus USCA at Pacer Pit, the Lander women's soccer team came away with a 1-1 draw and picked up one conference point on Wednesday night.

Lander (6-2-2, 3-1-1 PBC) outshot USCA (5-3-2, 2-2-1 PBC) by a wide 24-7 margin during the game, including a 12-5 edge in shots on net.

Their lone goal of the night came in the 62nd minute when Lucy Bova corralled a loose ball above the penalty area, moved to her right and lofted a shot above the reach of the Pacers' keeper for a 1-0 lead.

USCA tied the game in the 69th minute.

The Bearcats put three more shots on net over the final 20 minutes – the best chance perhaps coming off the foot of Rylee King in the 79th minute – but were unable to regain their advantage.

Lander next heads to Columbus State for a match this Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. from Walden Soccer Complex.
