Greenwood, S.C. - Lander Esports (17-11) continues their winning streak against Power 4 opponents by earning a 3-1 victory over the University of North Carolina and a 4-1 win over the University of Tennessee.
Academy Rocket League brought the streak to 4 after beating UNC 3-1 in C3 play.Â
Lander survived an early scare from North Carolina, dropping game 1 before taking the next 3 games to win the series. The wins came from intense pressure put on UNC, where shots (48-11) and demos (36-5) put the Tarheels on their back foot for the series.Â
In a week 2 matchup with Tennessee in NECC, Lander added onto their dominance, out-shooting (57-15) and out-demolishing (53-6) Tennessee while only dropping game 2 in the Best-of-7 series.Â
NECC competition continues for Lander as they play Augusta University on October 15th at 8pm.
The Bearcats will host the annual Pack the Stands night on October 14th in the
Finis Horne Arena where they will battle Clemson University for first place in the Carolina Collegiate Conference. Doors open at 6:15 and kickoff is at 7:00.
