Catawba downs Lander 10-1 in final regular season game

Salisbury, N.C. — In a battle of the SAC and Peach Belt regular season champions, Catawba defeated Lander 10-1 Tuesday night in the regular season finale for the Bearcats. 

Trailing 2-0 in the top of the third, Taichi Nakao singled with two outs and scored on a double by Ethan Wilder to make it a 2-1 game. The Indians scored two runs in the fourth and sixth in the seventh inning to break the game open. 

Wilder led the Lander offense, going 2-3 with a double and driving one in. Nakao, Gary Garrett, Adam Love, and Ross McCurley had one hit each. Luke Johnson (1-1) took the loss allowing four runs on seven hits in four innings.
