Aiken, S.C. - USC Aiken held off Lander in the second half, defeating the Bearcats 75-68 Saturday night in the regular season finale for both teams.
The Pacers would build a 13-point lead early in the second half, but the Bearcats would slowly chip away at the deficit. With USC Aiken leading 59-52 with just under ten minutes to go in the game, Lander got a layup from Phillip Burwell and back-to-back baskets from Jeremiah Holloway to tie the score. A jumper from Burwell with 5:30 minutes to go would give Lander their first lead since the first half at 63-62. Torrin Andrews then hit a three-point basket to make it 66-62. The Pacers then used a 7-0 run to retake the lead 69-66 and hit their free throws down the stretch to take the win.
Inady Legiste led the Bearcats with 21 points and eight rebounds. Burwell finished the game with 20 points and four assists, and Holloway had seven points and four assists.
