GREENWOOD—Slippery Rock scored with 14 seconds left in the game to win 16-15 over Lander Saturday afternoon.
Slippery Rock scored first just 43 seconds into the game, but Lander answered with goals from Izzy Olsen, Mickey Burnett, and Alyssa Suchan to take a 3-1 lead. After Slippery Rock cut the deficit to one, Kylie Fragala scored on an assist from Emmy Peterson to make it a two-goal game again. With the score tied at six, Burnett scored her secodn goal to give Lander the 7-6 lead. The Rock would outscore the Bearcats 4-3 over the final 10 minutes of the half to take a 10-9 lead. Lander would trail 15-12 late in the game, but two goals by Peterson and one by Olsen tied the game at 15 with two minutes to go. Slippery Rock would pick up the winning goal with 14 seconds to seal the win.
Peterson led Lander with four goals and three assists, while Burnett finished with four goals and one assist.
