Charleston, S.C. - The Lander University Equestrian team closed out the regular season this past weekend with a strong showing, bringing home Coach of the Year and Horse of the Year honors and having eight riders qualify for Regionals on March 2nd. 

On Saturday, the team finished 3rd overall, with Open Rider Kelly Weeks finishing 4th on the flat and a 2nd place finish over fences. Open Rider Macie Puckett finished 5th on the flat and 4th in jumping, and Anna Crittendon finished 5th in Open Flat (section b) and 6th in Limit Jumping (section c). Limit Rider Klaire Rice finished 1st in jumping (section c) and 4th on the flat, while Limit Flat Rider Audrey Poltorak finished 6th in Limit Flat (section c) and Limit Flat Rider Madison Mullaney finished 6th (section d). Novice Riders Eliza Williams finished 4th, followed by Abigail Glover, finishing in 5th. Introductory Rider Abigail Buckingham finished 1st, which qualifies her for regionals, and Introductory Rider Laci Newsom finished 3rd. 

On Sunday, the team finished 6th overall. Open Rider Macie Pucket finished 5th on the flat and 4th over fences, and Open Rider Kelly Weeks finished 6th on the flat and 3rd over fences, which qualified her for Regionals. Anna Crittendon finished 5th in Open Flat and Audrey Poltorak finishes 3rd in Limit Over Fences (section a). Klaire Rice finished 5th over fences (section b) and 3rd in flat (section d). Reagan Cline placed 5th in the limit flat section a, while Peyton Gentry finishes 5th in Limit Flat section c. Novice Rider Emma King placed 3rd, and Pre-novice rider Aniya Felder placed 4th. Haley Patterson finished 2nd in Introductory.
