Morrow, Ga.- #24 Lander outscored Clayton State 13-2 late in the second half to take a 71-60 win over the Lakers to extend their winning streak to five games. Trailing Clayton State 10-5 early in the game, Inady Legiste and Jacob Cooper score to cut the deficit to one. A three-point basket by Noah Dunn would again give Lander the lead. Ajang Aguek and Nigel Colvin hit three-pointers to give Lander an 18-11 lead. The Lakers would battle back and take a two-point lead with just over three minutes to go in the half. A jumper by Tommy Moore would again tie the game at 26, and a basket by Dominic Stanford gave the Bearcats a 28-26 lead with 1:56 remaining. Dunn scored the final five points of the half to give Lander a 33-26 lead.
The Lakers would not go away in the second half, cutting the Lander lead to one with 14:26 to go in the game. With the Bearcats leading 54-48, Aguek hit back-to-back jumpers in the paint that sparked the Bearcats. After a Laker basket made it an eight-point game, Aguek hit a layup on an assist by Moore to make it a 10-point lead again. A three-point basket by Dunn would cap the Lander run and give them a 17-point lead. The Bearcats would hold on for the win.
Dunn led all players with 19 points on 7-12 shooting, six rebounds and three assists. Aguek scored a season-high 15 points, Andrews finished with 10 points, and Moore led the Bearcats with five assists.
