ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - After allowing an early goal in the first half, the Lander men's soccer team would strike twice in the second half to take down the Flagler Saints 2-1 to begin conference action.
Lander moves to 2-3-2 overall and 1-0-0 in the PBC while Flagler drops to 1-4-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the PBC.
How It Happened
The Saints jumped out to an early lead in the first half with the opening goal coming in the third minute of action.
After not getting a single shot on goal in the first half, Lander would put five shots on goal in the second half.
Lander got the contest even at 1-1 after Jamie Escos Castillo scored his second goal of the season in the 65th minute. Carlos Madrid would initially attempt a shot in the box that would bounce off the right post giving Castillo the opportunity to put away the rebound
Christian Hatley would be the one to give Lander its first advantage of the game in the 79th minute with his team-leading fourth goal of the season. After a long shot from Rashawn Kellman forced Flagler's keeper to make a save off the crossbar, Hatley would blast a pair of shots on target with the second finding the back of the net.
