GREENWOOD - Lander wrapped up the Lorraine Redderson Invitational presented by Discover Greenwood, sweeping Lincoln Memorial 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Railsplitters led for much of the beginning of the first set, leading by as much as four points. Trailing 13-9, the Bearcats would score ten unanswered points to take a 19-13 lead. During their run, they would get three kills from Katie Miller, one by Lauren Dow, Annie Holesinger, and McCayla Willingham, and two aces from Dow. Lander would hold on to take the first set 25-23.
The Bearcats took the momentum by starting the second set on a 5-0 run. Lincoln Memorial slowly battled back and would make it a one-point deficit at 16-15. Lander answered by outscoring the Railsplitters 9-1 to take the second set 25-16. The Bearcats came out in the third set on fire, scoring the first 12 points. Lander would cruise to the 25-9 win to secure their fourth tournament win.
Katie Miller led all players with 19 kills, while Patricia Pantoja had 26 digs. Lauren Dow gave 26 assists in the win to go with a career-high six aces. Annie Holesinger added four blocks in the win.
