AIKEN, S.C. - The Lander baseball fell in its regular-season finale 4-3 to the USC Aiken Pacers on Sunday.
Lander drops to 25-25 overall and 17-13 in the PBC while USC Aiken moves to 30-20 overall and 20-10 in the PBC.
Ethan Wilder led the Bearcats with two hits. Wilder, along with Connor Droze, had a home run against the Pacers.
Oliver Zohn and Chris Manriquez both saw their hitting streaks continue with Zohn finishing the regular season with an eight-game hitting streak and Manriquez with nine.
After four scoreless innings Lander would jump out in front.
Wilder would take a pitch over the right-field fence for the game's first run in the fifth.
USC Aiken would strike back with an RBI single to right-center field to tie the game.
Lander would retake the lead on a home run from Droze to right-center field to go up 2-1.
The Pacers produced a home run of their own in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 2-2.
Lander would go up by a run in the ninth on a ground out from Zohn that scored Jackson Hoshour.
USC Aiken would load the bases in the bottom of the ninth and score two runs on a single up the middle to walk off the Bearcats.
Bennett Nance got the start for Lander and went 6.2 innings. Nance allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out four.
Cooper King was awarded the loss. King allowed two runs on one hit over two innings.
Bennett Sloper also saw an appearance in relief with one hit allowed along with one walk and a strikeout.
