Columbus, Ga. - For the second straight season, #8 Flagler halts the Bearcats in the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference Championship. Lander fell 3-4 to the Saints on Saturday.
Lander gained the first point of the afternoon with two Doubles wins.
Markus Sorensen and
Nick Beamish were victorious 7-6 in No.1 Doubles, while
Ambroise Marchand and
Nicolas Chan held their opponents scoreless 6-0 in No.3 Doubles.
Hugo Regner and Marchand were able to earn the remaining two points for the Bearcats in Singles. Regner defeated his fellow first team all-conference opponent, Nikita Tatyanin, 6-3, 6-4 in No.1 Singles. Marchand triumphed with two consecutive sets of 6-4 in No.2 Singles.
#16 Lander looks to earn an at-large bid in the NCAA Regionals. The final selection will be made on April 24th.
