MARTINEZ, GA. - After throwing a career-high eight innings while allowing just one run against the Flagler Saints, Luke Johnson has been named the PBC Freshman of The Week.
Johnson becomes the third Bearcat to win the award this season as he joins Tyler Overholt and Will McClellan. Lander has also claimed the last four FOTW awards and five of the last six.
He threw eight innings against the Saints in the second game of the series where he allowed two runs, one earned, on just four hits while striking out four. Johnson retired the side in order in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings. Johnson moves to 2-1 on the season and lowers his ERA to 1.17 with 37.2 innings of work.
Lander hosts Francis Marion on Tuesday, April 18 for a 6 pm start.
