Augusta, Ga. - Women's tennis triumphed over the Jags of Augusta in a 5-2 victory, in their first conference match of the season.
 
The Bearcats started off slow, dropping the Doubles point to Augusta. Down 0-1, Lander went to work in Singles, claiming five out of six matches.
 
Sina Albersmeier dropped her first set in No.1 Singles, but then went on to secure the point 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Mille Elsborg followed up with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory in No.2 Singles. Maranda Adair helped the Bearcats continue to gain the lead as she won in No.3 Singles 6-0, 6-3.
 
Hannah Panchal had two straight sets of 6-2 in No.5 Singles , while Fe Batoon wrapped up the final point in a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win.
 
Lander has a quick turnaround, as they travel to North Greenville on Monday for a 2 pm match.
