McClellan's home run not enough as Lander baseball falls 4-1 at Lincoln Memorial

ARROGATE, TENN. –  After moving its series to Lincoln Memorial this weekend, the Lander baseball team fell 4-1 in the first game of the series to the Railsplitters on Friday.
 
Lander falls to 1-3 overall while LMU moves to 5-0 on the season.
 
The Bearcats scored their lone run of the game on a lead-off home run from Will McClellan in the top of the first inning.
 
Neither team would see any runs come across in the second and third.
 
The Railsplitters tied the game on a sac fly to center field to bring home a runner from third in the bottom of the fourth.
 
LMU would take the lead in the bottom of the sixth off a two-run home run to right center before adding one more run in the eighth.
 
Nick Foray went 5.2 innings for the Bearcats to begin. He would pick up the loss after allowing three runs, all earned, on four hits while striking out two and walking four.
 
Zach Pellegrino dealt 1.1 innings of scoreless relief while striking out one Railsplitter. Matthew Ellis also saw an inning of relief as well.
 
Lander and Lincoln Memorial conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday with the first game set to begin at 1 pm.
