NEWBERRY, S.C. – In their final road match of the season, Lander out shot Newberry 20-6 and defeated the Wolves 1-0 Wednesday night.
The Bearcats got on the board in the 21st minute when Emman Sexton found Annika Seifart, who scored her fourth goal of the season to give Lander the lead. That would be all the Bearcats would need, as the Lander defense held Newberry without a shot on goal in the second half.
Leah Hayes Coen made two first-half saves in goal for Lander to pick up the win.
