ANDERSON, S.C. - Despite outshooting Anderson 11-7 Wednesday night, Lander fell 1-0 to the Trojans in non-conference play.
The Bearcats had two early opportunities to get on the board with two shots on goal by Claire Regnault in the first 16 minutes, but the Anderson keeper made the saves. The Lander defense held Anderson to just one shot on goal in the first half, as there was no score heading into halftime.
In the 58th minute, Kylie Swanson scored for Anderson on just their second shot on goal of the game to give them the lead. Less than a minute later, the Trojan keeper saved Mary Moosbrugger's shot to keep the Bearcats off the board. Lander had one last shot on goal by Rylee King in the 82nd minute, but she could not find the back of the net and Anderson held on for the win.
